The Toilets

All we want is a toilet  - not just for the comfort of regular church-goers, but also for the people who use

St. Alban's Church on a less regular basis;

for the people who attend the Tattenhall Music Society concerts

for the children of the Park School and their parents at the Christmas Production

for the Bach Singers and their audience

for people attending a baptism, wedding or a funeral in our church

and for social and fundraising events throughout the year.

But we have been told that "due to the complexity of the matter" the local Registrar does not wish to make a decision and it has had to go to the Lord Chancellor in London.

A public notice has been printed in the Chester Chronicle and Tattenhall Parish News and we are waiting for a decision as to whether or not we can build toilets adjoining our Church.

The building of the new Rectory

Yet another deadline (November 7th) passed with no action – but at last it does seem as if construction could be beginning!

The Churchwardens met with the Archdeacon and the Diocesan Surveyor on January 20th; a meeting full of embarrassment and apologies on their side.

However:-

  • A lamppost has been moved 92cm.
  • The brick wall has been cut back to allow lorries through.
  • A ‘red brick road’ has been laid down into the site.
  • The piles of soil have been removed; some of it has gone to the allotments in the village.
  • The ground has been ‘laid out’.

The Churchwardens are to attend monthly site meetings with the builders and the Surveyor’s department.  First one scheduled for 16th February.

So at last we are making progress.
